The Day My Laptop Died…

Posted on 20 February 2009 by urbanmusiceducation.org

A parody I wrote yesterday after the tragedy. Hope you like it:)

(Sing to the tune of “American Pie”)

A short, few days ago,

I could still remember when my laptop

used to make me smile.

And I knew if I had the chance,

that I could check my FaceBook stats,

and maybe I’d be happy for a while.

But then it froze, no arrow quiver,

No content could be delivered.

Bad news on my desktop,

it wouldn’t show, it just stopped!

I can’t remember the last time that I

made a backup of my drive,

But something touched me deep inside,

The Day My Laptop Died. :(

I was singin…

Bye, Bye, to my Apple i-Book,

Drove me pretty darn crazy just to keep you alive,

My good old files are gone and I’m asking why,

Singin’ this’ll be the day that I die!

This’ll be the day that I die!

“Did you turn the power off?

And did you check all the power cords?”

So the techie’s tell me so.

“And did you have any liquid near?”

No, I had it on my bed, I fear

that the inside over-heated and ran real slow…

Then I saw these lines go up and down and my

face turned downward to a frown.

I didn’t know what to do…

Now I’m sitting here singin’ the blues!

It was a lonely day, I was feeling stuck.

My laptop insides turned to muck,

And I knew I was out of luck,

The Day My Laptop Died!

UPDATE: Since I married the best techie in the world, the laptop has been resurrected for the time being. The morals of this story is, stay positive in the midst of anxiety, keep good backups of everything, and know that GOD IS IN CONTROL!
