Things HAVE gotten better as I have cancelled the Dance class for these age groups and am focusing on providing quality MUSIC instruction with more of a performance-based approach instead on a history approach. Kids in the new classes are enjoying it and when they are not, I am using a "fake it 'til you make it" style of teaching. Thanks for the words of encouragement! Don't worry about being cool. Just be excited about it and stand strong behind it. I also would ask what they like, and use it to motivate or introduce the lessons.
