Back to The Grind…

12 Aug 2009

Wow! Where did the summer go? I realized Sunday that I had not posted an Advocacy post on Thursday or a “Quote of the Week” last week! Oops… sorry dear readers…all two of you (Hi mom!). LOL Then my mind wandered to why this could be- I mean I’ve been pretty consistent about blogging all summer- and I remembered I was back at school those two days trying to set up my classroom and planning for the year already. I didn’t even really realize it, but I’ve really gotten a good head start on the year by getting my room cleared out of most of the CRAP from last year and streamlining my curriculum over the summer. This year it’s going to be quick and hands-on, with lots of “doing” and less “telling”. I’m excited for movement and have rushed ordered Anne Green Gilbert’s BrainDance video in hopes to incorporate it right away. I’m also going back to “basics” by bringing out my Orff Level 1 and most-recent Level 2 curriculum. Today I wrote 2 new welcome songs to go with music from the volumes and will post those here as I have time. So, please forgive me if the blogging slows down a little this fall. I’m going to try to post my classroom management strategies and issues as they come up, but those and Advocacy posts may turn into monthly events while QOTW will have to stay where it is unless I change the name. I don’t know, but QOTM just doesn’t look right;)
Take care and all you readers who are also returning soon or have already, God Bless and Good Teaching!
